In Norfolk, Virginia, the East Ocean View (EOV) Pier is a popular location for fishing, crabbing, wildlife watching, and other recreation. The handicapped-accessible pier is also used for educational purposes. The pier is located on the shoreline of Pretty Lake behind the East Ocean View Community Center.
The horseshoe-shaped pier extends 134 feet into the water. Depths around the pier vary up to 14 feet. Pretty lake is an inshore estuary of the Chesapeake Bay. The area is visited by spot, croaker, speckled trout, gray trout, bluefish, blue crabs, and other saltwater species.
The structure is officially known as the Bill Harbert Ocean View Fishing Pier. It is also known as the Norfolk EOV Pier.
