Located near West Point Virginia, the Glass Island Landing fishing pier extends into the tidal Mattaponi River. The pier is approximately 65 feet in length with a T-shaped head for fishing. Species caught at this pier include catfish, white perch, striped bass, shad, herring, and other species.
Situated along the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail Mattaponi Loop, the pier also provides a platform for birdwatching and other activities.
Glass Island Landing is located on Glass Island Road near the Mattaponi River bridge. The landing is owned and managed by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
